A Celebratory Tribute to

Pastor Michael Olawore

1961-2018

Sleep on Dearest Pastor Michael and have an eternal rest with God Almighty
I keep wondering why God took you from us so soon. I have not even been able to say thank you for all that you have done for me and my family since I have been in New wine Church and this really makes me sad. So sad that I wish that this was a dream. However, who am I to question God, the unquestionable God You are.

As Pastor Tayo rightly describes you:

  • You were a man under authority
  • You were a man of excellence
  • You were with passion for the things and people of God
  • You were a faithful man to the core
  • you were diligent in all you did and above all you were steadfast in your service to God through and through. Your loyalty to new wine church’s vision and to Pastor Tayo was second to none. You cherished these and we all loved you for it.

You were a pillar of strength and a father to all. You took on the baton of leadership from Pastor Tayo and did far above everyone’s wildest expectations. You were forward looking, and eve ever so focussed and worked tirelessly. You encouraged, you cajoled, and you counselled giving hope to many including myself and my family.
Pastor Michael, you were one in a million, a prayer warrior and interceding for all, you upheld family values and encouraged families to remain one in love, united, strong and outstanding at all fronts. Because of you, my marriage lasted this long and, if my husband was alive we would have enjoyed a lifetime of a fruitful happy marriage. You stepped in promptly to put things right between me and my husband even whilst he was still far away in another country. You and Pastor Tayo sowed strength and biblical principles of marriage into my marriage and I believe I am speaking for all marriages in new wine church till date.
I pray that God will call into the vision that God has given you and Pastor Tayo dedicated, committed men and women who are not afraid to march on with it, men who are resilient, full of strength and vigour and Christ centred, as you both taught us. I stand together with the church you left behind to say that our hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness. This song has brought me so much joy and hope and even at times like this, I cannot help but sing…. our hope, our aspirations and all that we hope to be, will be built on nothing less than Jesus blood and righteousness because on Christ the solid rock we stand, all other ground is sinking sand.
YES, ALL OTHER GROUND IS SINKING SAND.
ADIEU!! PASTOR MICHAEL OLAWORE
