A Celebratory Tribute to

Pastor Michael Olawore

1961-2018

About 10 years ago, I was conversing with Dr Tayo Adeyemi about his extensive travel around the world, during which time I asked whether New Wine Church would miss him. At that time there were 3 or 4 Associate Pastors in the Church. Dr Tayo told me: “Yes, they do, but if Pastor Michael is preaching that Sunday, the congregation does not miss me!” Yes, that was the calibre of my friend, Rev. Michael Olawore.

I have known him very closely for the last 2 decades, as an Able Administrator, Profound Preacher and a Saintly Person. I had the pleasure of dedicating him as the Senior Pastor of New Wine Church along with Bishop Francis Wale Oke, Rev. Randy Morrison and Dr Creflo Dollar. I used to feel proud every time he discussed about his ministry and often addressed me as one of his mentors.

The Lord prepared him very steadily to take over New Wine Church and its administration so effectively. I was astonished to see him and his wife, Lady Ayo, continue to be so humble even after assuming the high office of New Wine International.

Many thousands of people cried with me when we heard about his promotion into Glory. Rev. Michael Olawore had visited India many times in the last 20 years. His sincerity in serving the Lord was seen by thousands of people here and was appreciated. Whether it is a Public Crusade or an Intellectuals’ Meeting, he captured the crowd exactly like his mentor, Dr Tayo and fulfilled his duties diligently. He worked hard for God’s Kingdom from this world; now he is very much in the Kingdom, praising God in his glorious personality!

May his wife, children and the members of the New Wine family (including me) be comforted by the Holy Spirit Himself!
